  1. This week marks the beginning of the 2007/2008 Bendigo Cycling Club track season.  For those who are new to the club, racing is held on Thursday’s with racing beginning at 7pm.  Registration closes in the club rooms at 6.45pm.

 

  1. This season we have received sponsorship from Symes Motors Volkswagen.  A new aggregate will be held for the first scratch race of the evening for all senior grades, with points being allocated to all starters as well as place getters.  The full details of the points system will be available from Thursday night.  Just a reminder that anyone looking for a new car to drop into Symes and see the range of VW vehicles and return the support they have shown the club (and you!!)

 

 

  1. Bendigo riders featured in this month’s Sun Tour including Tom Southam’s (Drapac Porsche) second during the opening prologue criterium in Bendigo.  David Pell (Savings & Loan’s) scored second on stage two from Bendigo to Nagambie and 4th in stage 3 finishing at Beechworth.  Mark O’Brien (Drapac Porsche) finished a very credible 19th on the tough stage finish up Falls Creek.  David Pell finished the tour in 11th place.  Congratulations to all the Bendigo riders in the tour.

 

  1. Bendigo Cycling Club’s members Tim Decker and David Moreland won gold medals recently in Sydney for the World Masters Track Championships.  Tim Won the 30 to 34 years scratch race and points score, whilst Dave won the 50 to 54 years point score.  Congratulations from all the Bendigo Cycling club!!.

 

 

  1. Another congratulations to Tim Decker for winning this weekend’s Melbourne to Warnambool Cycling Classic.  For those that don’t know about the race’s history, it has been running for over 100 years, and is the longest race on the UCI calendar at 299km.  Well done to Tim!!.  What a month!!

 

  1. All riders wishing to join the club or renew their licence are asked to see Justin Leske.  Justin is the club’s membership manager and can be contacted on 54 432224 or drop into Harding Cycles.  Otherwise licenses can be renewed online here

 

 

  1. A reminder that the November monthly meeting will be held on Monday the 5th of November at 8pm at the cycling club rooms, Tom Flood Sport Centre.
