At last weeks monthly club meeting, a vote was cast for the new design of the Bendigo & District Cycling Club's new jersey. Members present had the opportunity to vote on 5 different designs which were created by our own club member Vanessa Courtot. This is the winning design, and the club will be shortly chasing quotes from clothing suppliers for best price/quality we can obtain. Please find the design as an attachment to this email, as I am not capable to cut from a PDF file. Thanks to Vanessa for all her work. (Just a note, that the BDCC lettering on the front+ back will be solid black to stand out further)

A final call for parents or members who are willing to undertake a short course to become a qualified club commissaire. The cost of the course will be paid for by the club and is undertaken as a distance learning package with a small assesment component in the future. If we dont have enough commissaires, we cannot run races. If anything, it may give some parents who are new to the sport, an understanding of rules and the technical aspescts which may assist when coaching or supporting your kids.

A new road marshal roster is currently being organised by Troy West. This is being done from the club membership list. The roster will be generated randomly so that members will have around 2 to 3 corners for the year. What is asked of each person who is listed on the roster is that if you cannot make it, to liase with someone else on the roster and organise a swap. If you dont feel comfortable with this, you can contact myself, Noel Sens, Ash Harding or Justin Leske, and we will help you to organise a swap. Nobody wants to hear the old excuses such as "I had to wash my cat today", or "The fridge magnets had to be cleaned" or "I forgot" or "My goldfish just died (for the 16th time)". The club will impose a sanction on members who dont make any effort to show up or a swap without a good excuse. (note: good excuse will be judged by the club executive)

Bicycle Victoria is holding 'Super Tuesday' on Tuesday the 4th of March 2008. In summary this is all about Bicycle Victoria organising a day where the numbers of bicycle commuters of all sorts will be counted and the statistics will be provided to local councils so to assist in improving road conditions for cyclists. The big thing for our club is that persons 'volunteering' can nominate a cycle club (B&DCC ) and $50 will be awarded for each counter. For the full details please see
http://www.bv.com.au/change-the-world/30600/. There is a cut off date so look at the web page and get your application in......

The date for the Tony McCaig criterium has been changes as Easter is early this year in March, and the Dahlia & Arts Festival is being held in April. Due to safety concerns with the course of previous years, a new course has been made. Please see the attached Google map for the course
here.
