  1. 1.   A reminder that the Bendigo Cycling Club Christmas Handicap will be held on Sunday the 15th of December.  The race starts at the Emu Creek tennis courts at 9.00am with entries closing at 8.45am.  Presentations will be held at ‘Nanga Gnulle’ gardens in Harley Street Bendigo.  Entries are being accepted at Harding Cycles up to Friday 14th at 6.30PM costing $15.  Entries on the day will attract a $20 fee, so be sure to get in early…!!!!
  2. 2.   A call for all members or supporters who would be able to assist the club on Sunday the 30th of December for the Bendigo leg of the Christmas Carnival series.  The club requires assistance to staff the entries, kiosk as well as drink van/s.  Anyone who thinks they could spare an hour or two on the day can they please contact Terry Schintler on 54 432224 (W) or simply email info@bendigocyclingclub.com.au
  3. 3.   Maryborough is hosting days 2 and 3 of the Christmas Carnivals this year and have plenty of racing for all ages and are attempting to host a madison for females, which I am sure will be very interesting.  Please show your support to Maryborough by entering or if you have overdone it with Christmas cheer, take a leisurely drive to Maryborough to watch some of the racing.
  4. 4.   Another note on Maryborough, that they are hosting the country track titles on the 15th and 16th of December.  Entries are via Cyclesport Victoria and close TODAY!!! So don’t be late.  Good luck to all club members who are participating there.
  5. 5.   In recent times, the number of officially qualified commissaires around the club has dwindled, and the club is attempting to have more persons qualified to assist at various races.  The club is going to pick up the cost for the course.  I understand that the course is done by way of distance learning with a small assessment done at a later date by Cyclesport Victoria to assess participants competency.  Anyone interested can contact myself on timbennett@bendigocyclingclub.com.au 0413 312691, or call in and see Ash Harding or Justin Leske at Harding Cycles.
  6. 6.   The club is in the process of designing a new club jersey which is anticipated to be available near the end of the track season.  The designs will be displayed on the club website shortly for everyone’s scrutiny.  It will then be advertised on the website and a vote will be taken at the following club meeting to decide the jersey design, manufacturer and how the jersey will be distributed.  Vanessa Courtot who is a graphic designer has put in plenty of her own time to get several designs ready, however if anyone else has any ideas, get them done ASAP, and email them to me. timbennett@bendigocyclingclub.com.au
